A group of local Lapeer East & Dryden grads have returned like Prodigal Sons to reinvigorate downtown Lapeer.
“Our love for our hometown brought us back to our roots to open a scratch made BBQ restaurant that offers the community a unique, handmade all-American BBQ experience,” says Founder Patrick Hingst, who also opened M.C. WICHES, the successful Detroit Style Sub shop in downtown Oxford, at the end of 2009.
Armed with an Ole Hickory commercial Smoking Pit, the guys bring Real American Barbeque to the heart of Lapeer. “Our Real American BBQ is dry rubbed and slow smoked in our Pit with Michigan Applewood and Pecan. We make 7 Signature BBQ sauces, and everything on the menu is made entirely from scratch, like it ought to be!”
Woodchips also highlights Michigan Beers, and carries over 40 Bourbons/Whiskeys, as well as boasting an innovative scratch made cocktail menu.
